When I unlocked my hubs it made it worse, now grinds constantly once in 2nd-3rd gear, sometimes loader than others. 0L engine no mods or anything that im aware of. Not a critical failure, but not a good sign either. Knocking noise at low speeds; Worn driveaxle constant velocity (CV) joint(s). I've searched this site and was unable to come up with anything on this. As soon as i did a couple of rolling 1st gear launches i could hear the grinding noise on the way home. I think you have a W56 which is very much like my W55 except for the 1st and 2nd gear ratios. And now when I take off from a stand still, there is slight a grinding sound which seems to be coming from the gearbox or lower back part of the engine (just behind the dash). What could this be. Seems to go up and down with rpms. The transmission will be in top gear (4th in my case) and the torque converter will be locked up. Hey guys, ive had my 2012 civic si sedan for a year and half. I hear the some kind of rattle noise when I release the gas pedal and press the pedal again to accelerate for about 1-2 seconds (specially when I'm in 5th gear. The slight grinding sound happens in all gears while accelerating except in first gear and in reverse. After watching this video, I found another similar incident where yet another Hyundai Sonata Taxi suffered from the same acceleration issue in Korea. Otherwise, it's shifts normally as it always has. Being that neither the 500 OR the 126 have synchro on 1st gear, I would NOT advise anybody to select 1st gear unless the car is stationary. I only really notice it when I back off the gas. The culprit of rattling sound when accelerating mainly derives from car engine. At first it was just when I turned. 2) When accelerating in gear I hear a raspy grinding type noise.
